What's Next Series: Additive Manufacturing in Canada
An overview of the additive manufacturing ecosystem in Canada, from an industry, research and training perspective. Technology developments, application highlights, regulatory differences and lessons learned from hands-on industry engagement will be discussed.

After graduating from MIT in Aero/Astro Engineering, Mark joined Rolls Royce in the UK working on air breathing rocket engines, before moving to his Father’s machine shop, Jet Blades. Mark worked his way from CAD/CAM programmer to Managing Director, making parts for Formula 1 teams and Rolls Royce jet engines. In 2007 Mark emigrated to the Maritimes in Canada with his family. Mark provided hands-on coaching for companies introducing advanced, lights-out manufacturing. Mark joined Renishaw in 2013 to head their new Canadian additive manufacturing business and start up their first North American Solutions Centre. In 2020 Mark moved to the University of Waterloo to lead industry training for additive manufacturing.
